No to All - Windows File Copy Secrets Revealed

You have a batch of photos on your camera's SD card and you may or may not have transferred all of them to your hard drive. When you start moving them, Windows throws up a very cordial message window letting you know that duplicates exist in the destination folder, and asks you if you want to overwrite the files... Eh, do you?

No, you're not certain, so you want to say no, but there's tons of files to say no to... Click, ding, click ding, click, ding... This could take an eternity, or you could just throw caution to the wind and go for the "Yes to all" button.

You don't have to stress.
Even though the button isn't there in the message window, there is a way to choose "No to All".

When the 'Confirm File Replacement' message window pops up during a file transfer, just hold down the SHIFT key and click on the "No" button.

Viola! All is bliss. You can go back later to compare files and make certain they are truly duplicates before you overwrite them.

(Some cameras use the same file names for photos in separate directories on Compact Flash Cards. Just an FYI...)
