However it happened, suddenly you find yourself needing to "undelete" files on a computer. Not even going to go into why you need to undelete files, but you need to, and there's help available.

FreeUndelete restores deleted files, including those removed from Windows Recycle Bin. In case of accidental removal of files on a NTFS (default for Windows Vista, XP, 2000 and NT), FAT32 or FAT16 file systems this is the utility to help.

I recently used this to recover all the data from a computer upon which all files had mysteriously been deleted. With the exception of a few files, 98% of everything was recovered.

This action needs to be taken quickly because data can be over written and replaced. The faster you discover something is gone, the better chance you have of recovering it.
